The Assises de l’économie de la mer: the annual meeting of the French maritime community

Created in 2005, the Assises de l’économie de la mer is an annual opportunity to discover the panorama of the economy of the sea, with the participation of more than 90 actors of the maritime community: managers, engineers and researchers, as well as representatives of companies and high level administration.

Organised by Le Marin and Ouest-France, every year the meeting welcomes politicians and big names from the world of the sea. Round tables, interviews and workshops are set up to present the French maritime economic issues.

A 2-day programme

The programme for this 2021 season includes a key theme of “economic recovery in the context of ecological transition”.

Several political and maritime personalities will speak, including:

  • Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice,
  • Jean-Pierre Chalus, President of the Union of French Ports,
  • Philippe Baptiste, Director General of CNES,
  • Sabine Roux de Bézieux, President of the Sea Foundation
  • Isabelle Autissier, Sailor and Honorary President of WWF France

The Assises de l’économie de la mer are a place for debate and for highlighting certain maritime economy concepts. They are also a networking event with sit-down lunches, evening receptions and other opportunities to develop your professional contacts.
