The Office for Climate Education is looking for a science officer to participate in the development of educational resources, the professional development of teachers and the design of educational projects.
Host organisation
Established in March 2018, the Office for Climate Education (OCE) is a foundation under the auspices of UNESCO and the La main à la pâte Foundation. The OCE has been, since 2021, an observer member of the IPCC.
Its mission is to promote and develop climate change education. The OCE conducts educational projects in France, in Europe and in Latin America, and plans to implement projects in Africa and South-East Asia soon.
Position description
The candidate will be asked to:
- Develop various educational resources for primary and secondary school teachers (science communication, teaching guide, video clips, multimedia animations, serious games, MOCC, etc.);
- Organize and facilitate a variety of events (conferences, training workshops, summer universities…) in France and abroad;
- Coordinate exchanges with scientific partners
Profile and skills
- PhD in climate science with an excellent knowledge of climate change issues and a strong interest in interdisciplinarity
- Strong skills in science mediation and/or science education
- Fluency in English (Fluency in French will also be an asset)
- Excellent writing skills
- Experience in project management
Location
Office for Climate Education, Sorbonne-University, Jussieu campus, Paris 75005 (France).
Partial teleworking possible.
Contract type
Full time for 12 months
